Launcher-X
Bozidar Benc was one of the early great
Palm developers. Sadly he died, so Launcher x isn't
currently being updated. Having said that,although
the graphics are a little dated, Launcher-X is powerful
and simple to use. After Initiate, this is my
favourite! |

Initiate
This is one of mine. It was inspired
by the realisation that in a smartphone, you launch
calls and e-mails as much as you launch applications.
Initiate includes all the main functionality
of the other launchers, like the ability to browse
and organise applications, the ability to move apps
to and from the sd card (and run them from the sd
card) and the ability to beam or delete apps easily.
Initiate is different in that it includes
contacts, mp3s, bookmarks and other items from your
smartphone. It makes it really easy to find whatever
you want (you type a couple of letters), then lets
you launch apps, start emails, make calls, etc |

If you don't want to make calls or emails,
then Initiate light gives you the standard application
management functions that you'll see in other launchers
and also lets you find and view contacts. I think
you'll eventually move over to the full version -
so you get Initiate light practically for free! |
