Initiate III is here in Beta

Initiate III has a host of new features including:

• A completely new look
• New status icons (speaker and voicemail)
• New underlining as you type to show how matching is working. (Smart search is now the default option)
• added support for palm documents
• more supported document readers
• moved search display to status area and expanded status area
• added ability to show/hide buttons
• Added console-style display during manual list update
• Use Palm photo picker for jpeg backgrounds
• Added Lefty support
• Rebuilt Preferences page
• Per-view backgrounds
• Added 'live conversion' backgrounds
• Added plugins (Datebook 6 and 2day formats)
• Background updating of the launch list (no more waiting while your launcher is 'scanning')
• Added ability to set text colours by view
• Added ability to set status icons by view
• Allowed list mode to display in multiple columns
• Allowed display of icons without text (except for selected icon)
• Allowed option of using high res devices to show twice as much in main list (rather than higher detail)
• Enhanced scrolling (press & hold, or option and hold for faster navigation)
• added ability to re-order categories
• added ability to restrict items in the list to only show in part of the screen

Plugins

Initiate III supports plugins in the dateBk6 format or the 2Day format. You can get them here

Current Limitations

This is still a beta - so it isn't 100% ready yet. Please expect the following:

• It may crash (that's why you are a beta tester!)
• If your device is Low Res, then the new look isn't done yet - Initiate III is not for you yet...
• Skins work differently in Initiate III, and they old skins need to be updated. I am working on updating them. See the bottom of the screenshots section for available skins. Note that skins require version 3.32 or higher!

Upgrade Policy

as with all Hobbyist Software apps, upgrades are free for a year, so within the year, you can freely upgrade from Initiate to Initiate III

So feel free to purchase Initiate now and use the codes in Initiate III - there won't be any problems upgrading when Initiate III is fully released.

(If you were one of the folks who bought years ago when I did free upgrades for life, then these will still apply)
